HUBUNGAN KECANDUAN GAME ONLINE DENGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR PADA SISWA DI SMA NEGERI 7 KOTA BANDA ACEH TAHUN 2021

The results of the initial survey that the researchers conducted by means of direct
interviews with 10 students, 7 of whom explained that during study hours they stole the
opportunity to continue the online game there was an unfinished mission after the break,
then they said it was due to playing their online game. have sleep disturbances and
spend playing online games than studying. Furthermore, 3 other students play online
games just to unwind and do it for no more than 1 hour. This study aims to determine
the relationship between online game addiction and learning motivation in students at
SMA Negeri 7 Banda Aceh in 2021. The type of research is analytic with a cross
sectional approach. The population in this study is according to reports from direct
monitoring by teachers of students with the criteria of those who play online games
continuously regardless of study time in SMA Negeri 7 Banda Aceh City as many as
239 people. The sample in this study was 167 students / I with the sampling technique
of acidental sampling. The results showed that there was a relationship between online
game addiction and learning motivation in students (p-value of 0.006 < from the value
of = 0, 05). To school teachers to further improve counseling by providing information
to parents and children that playing online games excessively can interfere and take up
less learning time, so it is hoped that the school will control students while in the school
environment when the teaching and learning process takes place giving sanctions or
reprimands for students who are negligent by playing online games.
