FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN PNEUMONIA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS BAITURRAHMAN

Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection caused by viruses, bacteria and fungi.
In Indonesia pneumonia is a disease that often occurs in children. Data from the
Baiturrahman Health Center note that pneumonia in toddlers in the last three years
has increased, namely in 2018 there were 43 cases out of 932 under fives, in 2019
there were 62 cases out of 1,016 under fives, in 2020 the number of pneumonia
sufferers has increased from 68 cases in the previous year. The purpose of this
study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of pneumonia in
the Baiturrahman Health Center Work Area in 2021. This research is an analytic
study with a cross-sectional design. The population and sample are all toddlers
who will experience pneumonia in 2021 as many as 68 people. The research was
conducted on 9 – 15 July 2022. Data was processed using univariate and bivariate
methods. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (P
value = 0.008), there was a relationship between education (P value = 0.035),
there was a relationship between immunization status (P value 0.006) and there
was a relationship between smoking behavior (P value 0.003) and the incidence of
pneumonia in the Baiturrahman Health Center Work Area. in 2021. It is hoped
that it can increase mother's knowledge about the factors that cause pneumonia in
children such as poor ventilation, exposure to cigarette smoke, prolonged flu in
children. Increasing community participation in posyandu for immunization by
providing rewards for mothers who are diligent at posyandu and completing child
immunizations.
